How to Listen Audio From Pc via USB Tethering

To listen to audio from your PC through your smartphone using USB tethering, it requires a specific setup and may not be as straightforward as other methods. Here’s a general approach to achieve this:

1. Enable USB Tethering: First, connect your smartphone to your PC via USB cable and enable USB tethering on your smartphone. This allows your PC to use your smartphone's internet connection.

2. Use Software to Redirect Audio: You'll need software that can redirect audio output from your PC to your smartphone. One example of software that can achieve this is SoundWire.

·     SoundWire: SoundWire is an app that allows you to stream any audio from your PC to your Android device over a Wi-Fi or USB connection. While it's primarily designed for Wi-Fi, some users have reported success using it over USB tethering by configuring it appropriately.

3. Configuration:

·     Install SoundWire on your Android smartphone and the SoundWire Server on your PC.

·     Connect your smartphone to your PC via USB and ensure USB tethering is active.

·     Open SoundWire on both devices. On the PC, select the appropriate audio output (e.g., speakers or headphones) that you want to stream to your smartphone.

·     On your smartphone, connect to the SoundWire server running on your PC. You may need to enter the IP address of your PC manually if automatic discovery doesn’t work over USB tethering.

4. Audio Playback: Once connected, any audio played on your PC should be transmitted to your smartphone and can be listened to through your smartphone's speakers or headphones.

While USB tethering primarily serves as an internet connection method, using apps like SoundWire creatively can allow you to extend its functionality to stream audio as well. Keep in mind that the effectiveness may vary depending on your specific devices and software configurations.
